Can't import downloaded files?

Why can't I download audio from youtube and import it to places like iTunes or Audacity? I always get an error from iTunes saying the file could not be added/converted and the loading time extends indefinitely on Audacity.

They run just fine on the windows media player.

Hi!

Perhaps it is the wrong file format? Please consult the allowed formats in each software.

I've used it before, though. And they're just in the MP3 128kbps format

That is strange, could you tell me what the error from iTunes says?

It just says "None of the selected files could be converted."

And when I try simply adding them to the library, it doesn't tell me anything, nor does it add anything.

I see. Could you please try selecting from the dropdown next to the download button Advanced > Mobile Device > Apple iOS. Please let me know if this fixes the issue.

Apologies for the late reply. It does seem to work, though when I download it from YouTube, it downloads as a video file rather than an audio file. iTunes does accept it and converts it into an audio file, so it worked.
I'm now just curious why it works differently.
