Upgrade to Plus

I attempted to Upgrade to Plus, but the "Upgrade to VDownloader Plus" is greyed out.  I can't enter my Subscription Key.  Can you help?

Yes, that did it Diogo!

The only thing I have left is that the VDownloader Icon is no longer showing in my desktop shortcut, nor in my app listings (in the app listing under the "window" icon in the lower left and the icon in my toolbar).  Is there something that can be done to get my VDownloader icons back?

Not really....but I can follow instructions pretty well.

 

After I uninstalled the unathorized version, I lost my VDownloader icon that would appear on my desktop....in my app listings.

Hi Lynn,

First of all, please close VDownloader.

After it is closed, let's try this:

1) Press Windows Key + R simultaneously (It will open a small window named "Run")

2) Type "regedit"

3) If a window shows up asking for permission to open the Windows Registry, allow it 

4) The registry will open. In the left pane, please navigate through "HKEY_CURRENT_USER" -> "SOFTWARE" -> "VDownloader"

5) In the right pane, there should be a field with name "License". 

6) Please delete it (either by pressing the DEL key, or by right-clicking the license name and then "Delete")

7) Run VDownloader. Take a look at the upper right-hand corner again and check if it says "Free" version. If it does, you should be able to go to "Version -> Upgrade to VDownloader Plus" and enter the license key.

Please let me know the outcome.

I think I know what the problem is.  I was using a "pirated" version of VDownloader.  I didn't feel comfortable continuing to use an unathorized version, so I purchased VD Plus.  I uninstalled the unathorized version from my and computer and then downloaded from the link sent by email to me from VDownloader.  I think that the unauthorized version key some how remained on my computer because when I went to Help>About VDownloader, it reported that I was using VDownloader Plus 4.4.2350.0.  If I am correct, I want to make things right.  I want to remove that anuathorized Key and use the Subscription Key sent to me by VDownloader.  Can you assist me in accomplishing that task?

I see. Thanks for purchasing VDownloader Plus! Although piracy is something that is virtually impossible to stop, I appreciate that you've purchased it :-)

Do you have any experience manipulating the windows registry?

Hi Lynn,

Generally if the "Upgrade to VDownloader Plus" button is greyed out, that means that your VDownloader Plus license is already active.

Could you please take a look at the upper right-hand corner of the main window and tell me which version you're running?
